How it works

The laser treats pigmented hair at the root.

It does not treat white, gray, blonde, or red hair. Hair must be treated while it still has pigment. Laser hair removal can also help ingrowns, folliculitis barbae, keratosis pilaris, and breakouts tied to hair growth.

Before your appointment

You must stop waxing, plucking, and threading 2 weeks beofre your first session and for the duration of your treatments and on. Shave the area 24 hours before your treatment.

Consultation

We will assess your skin and hair and set up your treatment plan.

Treatment

15–60 minutes for most areas. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately after.

The series

Return every 4–8 weeks. Maintenance is necessary to retain your results from the treatment.

Common questions.

Does it work on every hair color?

No. The laser needs pigment in the hair. White, gray, blonde, and red hair do not respond well. Laser is most effective on black and brown hair.

Is it safe on darker skin?

Yes. GentleMax Pro has both Alexandrite 755nm and Nd Yag 1064 nm wavelenghts. We are able to treat from the fairest to the deepest skin tones safely and effectively.

How many sessions?

At least six. Most people need more. Spacing is usually 4–8 weeks.

What should I do before I come?

Shave the area 24 hours prior. Do not wax or pluck for two weeks before the first visit, or during the series. Avoid direct sunlight (no tanning) and stop using self-tanner for two weeks.
